Spellow Lane Evangelical Church

the One in the middle, Bringing Christ to the People of Walton

Coronavirus

15th September 2020

Dear Spellowfolk :
It seems that Liverpool is once again suffering from Covid-19 infections.
The whole region has been put on the Watch List.
If the rate of infection continues to increase, at the rate it is, the region will be put under increased restrictions.
We, at Spellow Lane Church, must think about how we react to the increasing rate of infection and we have decided to close the Church building again for a couple of weeks. This is a sad decision, but we feel the correct one.

We will REMAIN open on 13th of September, and 17th September.
We will NOT OPEN the Church on 20th or the 24th September.
On those dates we will have Zoom Church only. (and YouTube)
On 27th September we will reconsider if it is appropriate to be in the Church or on Zoom on that day.
I hope that you understand our concerns and understand also that we think that this is the most appropriate response at this time.
Please pray for the city region, and for the area of Walton L4.

………..Stay safe

The Coronavirus is an international public health event that is likely to have an increasingly significant impact over the next few weeks and months.

For those of us who come to Spellow Lane Church we are continuing to meet and continuing to pray, though we may find ourselves unable to meet together in the next weeks if the Govt advice changes.
These are Govt. guidelines and we will stick to these : we are very much concerned for your welfare.

We would encourage you to be sensible, and diligent in hand washing and hygiene when around others, and we will do all we can to mitigate the situation by keeping our rooms and washrooms clean.
Hand sanitizers, hot water and soap are available.

Some people, as some point, may need to self-isolate : PLEASE do tell us if you do.
We will do whatever we can to support you if that becomes the case, even though visiting may not be possible.

Let’s just continue to love each other.

Even as I write this, national guidance is evolving and I will come back to you in due course, when necessary. In the meantime, your health, the health of your families are uppermost in my mind.
At times of crisis, most people go above and beyond expectations, however, I must urge you to follow all of the medical advice and protect yourself and others when required.

Coronavirus is serious and causing widespread fear. The Bible is not silent in times of fear. Here are some scriptures and prayers to share with your family, or friends during this public health crisis. God’s Word is not silent!

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit  and crowns you with love and compassion”.
Psalm 103:2-4

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?”
Luke 12:25-26 . Many people are worried about Coronavirus, but this is a time to trust in GOD.

” Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
James 4:8.
